Robert Schumann
Robert Schumann (1810-1856) was a German pianist and composer.
One of the best known and archetypal of all Romantic composers, he composed four symphonies, many works for solo piano, hundreds of songs, and chamber music for many instrumental combinations. His music had a considerable influence on later composers including Mahler and Richard Strauss.
