Bernhard Romberg
Bernhard Romberg (1767-1841) was a German composer and cellist.
He had a key role in developing the modern cello, including lengthening the fingerboard, designing half size instruments for young players and limiting the number of clefs the instrument used. He wrote many works including ten cello concertos and eleven string quartets.
