Ernest Chausson
Ernest Chausson (1855-99) was a French composer, who only started studying music in his twenties.
He was taught in Paris by Jules Massenet and studied alongside César Franck who became a lifelong friend.
In his relatively short musical career he composed fewer than 40 pieces, but among them is a particular staple for violinists, Chausson's Poème for violin, an accompaniment for which features on this website. A link can be found below.
