Rebecca Clarke
Rebecca Clarke (1886-1979) was a British composer and violist.
She was one of the most distinguished female composers of the early 20th century, and was also a famous viola player, collaborating with many famous musicians including Pablo Casals, Jascha Heifetz and George Szell.
Her mastery of the viola is well illustrated in the composition of her viola sonata which has become a staple of the repertoire, and accompaniment tracks for Clarke's Viola Sonata are included on this website. A link can be found below.
