Maurice Ravel
Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) was a French composer, pianist and conductor.
In his day he was regarded as Frances greatest composer, and his music incorporates elements of neoclassical and baroque forms. Some of his later works are more experimental in nature, and some incorporate elements of jazz. His most famous work is perhaps Bolero, written in 1928, which is a fifteen minute orchestral crescendo anchored on an 2 bar ostinato rhythm played 169 times.
