Felix Mendelssohn
Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) was a German composer, pianist and organist.

He was one of the greatest child musical prodigies of all time, demonstrated in such pieces as his Octet and the overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, both written in his teens. His performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion in 1829, was a key event in the revival of Bach’s reputation, whose music had largely been forgotten up to that point.
