George Gershwin
George Gershwin (1898-1937) was an American composer and pianist, whose music amalgamated classical and jazz idioms to create a distinctive style.

He died tragically young, but his musical legacy includes Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris, as well as creating memorable stage musicals with his brother Ira.
