Jacques Offenbach
Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880) was a German-born French composer and cellist.
He wrote dozens of operettas, influencing later composers including Johann Strauss and Arthur Sullivan.
The famous Can-Can originates from his opera Orpheus in the Underworld and another opera, The Tales of Hoffmann, features a famous Barcarolle, piano accompaniment for which can be found on this website. A link for the work is below.
