Telemann's Flute Suite in A minor is one his best-known works. It was originally written for flute and string orchestra but is arranged here for flute and piano. Instead of the usual set of sarabandes and courantes, Telemann's suite contains a number of unorthodox movements blending French, Italian and Polish dances, all of which are preceeded by a six-minute long Overture. The suite has earned a core place in the flute repertoire.
