Bedrich Smetana composed 'From the Homeland' (known as 'Z domoviny' in the native Czech) in 1880. It consists of two movements for violin and piano, a Moderato in A major followed by an Andantino in G minor, which begins in the style of a recitative and ends in a blaze of energy. There are two versions of this work, which differ quite significantly in places. This website includes accompaniment tracks and scores for both versions.
