Friedrich Seitz is best known for his five concertos for violin and piano, known in English as 'Student Concertos'. Each concerto concentrates on different pedagogical aspects of violin playing, and consists of three sections in contrasting tempos that are played consecutively without a break. The first of these concerto was published in 1891 and is in the key of D major.
