Weber wrote his second Clarinet Concerto alongside his first, in 1811, although it wasn't premiered until 1813. It is a key concerto within the clarinet repertoire, with a technically demanding first movement including some 3-octave jumps. The beautiful Romanza second movement is operatic in character, while the celebrated third movement is in the style of a virtuosic polonaise.
