Gabriel Grovlez composed his Sarabande et Allegro in 1929, originally for oboe and piano and later transcribed for alto saxophone in 1962. It is a popular work within the saxophone repertoire, featuring a solemn but heartfelt Sarabande followed by a bright and cheerful Allegro. This version is in F minor / F major, and suitable for alto saxophone and piano.
