Reinhold Glière's Horn Concerto was completed and premiered in 1951, and has become perhaps the best known of his works. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest horn concertos of the 20th century, with a resolute and striking first movement, a beautiful Andante which illustrates the medlodious nature of the horn, and a thrilling dance movement to finish.
