Bizet wrote his opera Carmen in 1875 and it has gone on to become one of the most famous examples in the repertoire. One particular aria from scene 5 in the first act has become better known simply as 'Habanera', a playful and sensous piece that works well as an individual concert work. It has been transcribed for many instrumental combinations, and the accompaniment track here is in D minor and suitable for many different solo instruments.
