Piano accompaniment backing tracks
The beautiful Siciliano which begins this 4th violin sonata is often compared to one of Bach's most famous arias, "Erbarme dich" from the St. Matthew Passion. The second movement has been described by John Butt as "one of the most intensive fugal movements Bach ever wrote" and is typical of Bach's compositional genius. The third movement contains a noble violin melody against triplets on the keyboard, while the final movement is a spirited dance in binary form.
