Having never heard a 'lullaby' for trumpet before, Leroy Anderson (1908-1975) decided to write one himself in 1949. It has since become a popular short work for trumpeters the world over, but particularly in America where it is often heard on national holidays. It works especially well as an encore after a trumpet recital. The piano part is in F major.
